I was told by current car owner that this was the last Stone Wood and Cook Willys build. It is a steal body and had a few dents.  Apparently the one at the NHRA Museum and this one are the two last left.

Sadly, this year a political move changed the racing scene in France.  Many races have been held on local airports in the past but this practice has been made unlawful starting 2013.  I don't like to make it sound political, but when I see my closest track here being shared by planes and cars since 1958, it makes it clear there are no technical reason for such ban.

This this what the Bristol track look like from the top of the tower.  I think it's one of the nicest decor for a drag race track, but it's also the loudest one I know of.  On left and right of the stands, two more mountains bounce the sound. In June it's extremely loud with the Fuel cars.

Gasser @ Bristol

There were also 4 Gassers coming from SC in exhibition at the X-DRL race.  More images to come. Interestingly as this is being posted, I am on my way today to a AA/Gasser event with different cars here in VA.  You know what to expect...

X-DRL

Late April,  I was at Bristol, TN to cover the X-DRL race.  These are for the most part Pro Mods and derivates as well as Mountain Motor Pro Stock.  There are some rails as well racing Top Dragster.  I'll post a link as soon as my images are posted on my sponsor web site.

The Aussie car

This car was imported from Australia in the seventies.  I discovered it in my home town where I snapped some shots.  It apparently has changed hands  and is now under restorations.

This car has some history.  I believe it is the one used for the promotion of a oil product. The car drove non stop for a few days around Paris.  Any one to confirm this?
